Zahirah Zainal

Biography



Zahirah(b. 1997) is a young practicing artist based in Singapore, whose interest is in personal struggles and hardships faced by the people around her, incorporating embroideries in her works. She is inspired by feminine issues such as beauty and motherhood. Zahirah is intrigued by the idea of juxtaposing her choice of material and her ideas in her art practice, for instance, the beauty of embroidery versus the ugliness of reality. Graduating from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) with a Diploma in Fine Art, Zahirah’s artworks have been exhibited at ON-AIR Gallery in NAFA.
